I got off work today and found my route home blocked by miles of floats. The main Mardi Gras parade route cuts between my house and my school, which means that there are exactly two ways to get home when the parades are rolling: go by foot, or creep your way onto a congested interstate for a long, roundabout, hour-long detour. I am instead waiting it out at a coffee shop near my work.
It's also just started to rain, which I am seeing as a sign that the world is on my side. This is what happens, people. Throw an inconvenience my way and in retaliation you will get thousands of sad, miserable children who will probably start to develop hacking coughs tomorrow morning.
