On and on

I have not been posting recently because I've been drawn into a dark web of organized crime, ancient secrets, and erotic intrigue. Needless to say, I can't discuss such things on my blog, so instead I'll keep complaining about my job prospects and the weather.

What has happened lately? Well:

  • This morning, a very dear friend of mine is in the hospital having a girl removed. This will be her second child. I can't imagine. Congratulations on the birth, and here's to hoping your daughter doesn't grow up to be a war criminal! (PS -- thank you Ethan for pointing me to the video linked to above)
  • Friends are coming here for the High Holy Days this weekend. I can't wait, although I am also a little apprehensive because I don't think that this trip can live up to their previous visit last summer when we lived in a place that had fun neighbor children. Now our neighbors are all uptight, youngish white professionals or silent, grizzled addicts from the halfway house down the street.
  • I applied for a really cool job that I wanted a lot, and I completely blew it

  1. Way to go Kat! I didn't even know she was carrying another human!

[ And I totally wanted to go see you in NOLA, but I'm already taking a bunch of time off to go to sxsw in a few weeks :) :/

  2. My mom and I are planning a trip to NOLA (we got people at the Maison Dupuy) so is it ok if we call you up? I promise to give a heads up. Not for any of the big party times, if there is any such thing.

  3. Ok, just make sure to visit another time. Hell, come on your way back from SXSW. I'll bet some of the bands will stop in NOLA on their return trip from Austin (all bands come from the Northeast, see).

a.b. -- sure, absolutely, as long as I can get a bucket of hotel ice. Do you have my number?

  4. Thanks for the coverage, author of Adult Concerns (and thanks for the congrats, Ethan)! I was wondering if the major media outlets would pick up the story about my second child being born, what with all that nonsense going on in Libya. At least my child and I know we are "breaking news" to you!
